Telenav 5.1 a wonderful experience
October 20th, 2007 by Jorge Ledesma
Most people have heard of Blackberry Maps, the native map application developed by RIM, to interface perfectly with the blackberries but then again it can be so confusing for the average Blackberry users that is not circulating the forums to find out the latest applications. So here is my experience ever since I upgraded to an 8800(the best business blackberry in my humble opinion). I downloaded the latest version of Google Maps 1.63 which has GPS support and let me tell you its good but its a bit slow on an Edge connection but it has your basic options of “find direction”, my “favorites” point my position within 3 meters to be perfectly honest with you all if don’t want to pay the $9.99/month for a Telenav subscription this option works quite sufficiently. Blackberry Maps, what can I say, it has a lot to be desired, it could not find my address in Miami, FL and I live in the metropolitan area, so I was kind off disappointed with it. And here comes Telenav, wow, the precision this service is simply amazing, it took me on a 32 mile journey to the recently opened Ikea Home store in Sunrise, FL from door to door, what I liked, the voice, it speaks the route perfectly clear on my 8800, the images are awesome in 3D, it reroutes your direction based on a minute by minute turn of your wheel, simply amazing, I give it two enthusiastic thumbs up.
