Braincast and the Blackberry, a combination made in heaven . . .

Braincast is a great application, that provides a very simple and reliable solution to handle leaving yourself messages. You simply create an account with them at http://braincast.viatalk.com/account/login and input your mobile number(your blackberry) and voila, they give a toll free number for you to call and leave yourself messages there, the beauty is that those messages are sent to you in form of an email with a .wav file attachment with the messages you just left yourself as oppose to Jott(some of you may heard this other service, it transcribes your voice and sends you an email with the text but the problem here is most of the time the computer doesn’t interpret your voice correctly and you get sent an email, that leaves you saying “what did I say” so now with Braincast leaving yourself and others messages is a snap, quick and easy so check it out, you won’t be disappointed

Being a jott user for quite some time and studying braincast, I can say it isn’t really fair to compare the two when it comes to how it transcribes the voice. I can see how braincast can get better transcriptions because they have more time to get the trascriptions right being the person isn’t at their computer when they send it in. With Jott, you are requesting a transcription of the voice to be sent not only to email, but to one’s cell phone (or your own cell phone) and when doing so, it is more of an immediate command.
Second of all, if a jott transcription does get botched up, there is the option to hear the audio from your phone or email. So regardless, there is a way of receiving ones jott.
For the amount of time I’ve been jotting, I’ve only encountered bad transcriptions my first month, after that, my jotts have came back to me perfect! So I hope who ever reads this doesn’t put a harsh judgement toward’s Jott. Both are excellent services giving us the power of voice to text, but both for different reasons.
