A site about Blackberry and GTD
New life at BlackBerryGTD.com
June 23rd, 2009 by admin
Jorge has moved on to Nokia but he was kind enough the pass the site along to people that care about GTD applications on the BlackBerry. I’m recruiting a few key contributors and we will be up and running shortly, revisiting applications and discussing the best of the best in GTD software.
Thanks Jorge for giving us a place to springboard from.
More soon!

007 Special Assignment, testing different mobile Platforms
November 24th, 2008 by Jorge Ledesma
Hello, hello, fellow gtders, I just wanted to chime in and let you know I’m on a special assignment.
Mission: Testing Gtd concepts in different OS platforms
Current Platform being tested: Windows Mobile Classic
Phones: HTC S621 and Samsung Blackjack II both running Windows Mobile 6.1
Guys, let me tell you that so far my experience has been pretty nice, we have all heard that Windows Mobile is this or that, the darkside as its been called, but there is nothing dark about Windows Mobile and although I’m a huge Blackberry fan(of course :)) WM does offer a lot flexability as far running your GTD environment.
More to come . . .
AstraSync: an Evolution in Blackberry syncing via Activesync
July 23rd, 2008 by Jorge Ledesma
AstraSync from Mailsite is almost here; this application is truly the next evolutionary step in Blackberry sync technology via ActiveSync. What AstraSync does is basically handle your connection via MS Exchange 2007 or Mailsite’s Fusion server client to sync natively with your blackberry calendar, contacts, and email via Direct Push technology. I’ve been beta testing this application for the last few weeks and my experience has been wonderful, actually liberating, its great to have my Outlook 2007 contacts, calendar, and email all synced to my Blackberry without a hiccup. Gone are the days of buggy SyncML clients often times duplicating or triplicating your PIM databases and putting your whole world upside down for a few hours (and I know some of you out there know exactly what I mean
) but with AstraSync everything is easy; put in your basic information eg. server, username, password, domain and that’s all, hit sync and your up and going and the rest is handled behind the scenes. Astrasync will sync instantly as soon as a change is made in Outlook 2007 or Exchange 2007(Exchange 2003 is not supported at this time but MailSite is making every effort to support it in a future release), its blazing fast, I literally added a calendar event on my Blackberry 8310 and withing 10 seconds my Outlook 2007 Calendar was updated as well as my Exchange 2007 Calendar. I imported about 350 contacts in a few minutes 3-4 minutes tops. Now Blackberry users that don’t need to have a BES account or even a BIS account to be able to sync to Exchange. AstraSync will truly amaze when its released in the next upcoming weeks around August, the launch was suppose to come in July but Beta testing is still going on to refine some minor details, as you may understand the ramifications of this upcoming release are enormous and Mailsite wants to make sure everything is great, I want to give a special thanks to Dave Ryder and AmitPatel
for being so helpful with all my basic questions and support issues.
My personal setup: I can personally attest to the user experience with Exchangemymail this company’s service is outstanding with a capital “O”, there support is in the premiere category if such a category exists, I also want to thank Antonio Oviedo for his outstanding support service with my Exchange 2007 account by making sure everything was working flawlessly.
So folks, keep your RSS readers updated because AstraSync from Mailsite is coming soon.

New Viigo, who else is disappointed ? Say hello to NewsGator Go for Blackberry
July 2nd, 2008 by Jorge Ledesma
Hello guys, I just deleted the new Viigo, I got tired of the huge memory overkill on my 8310, it was just sucking way too much memory, it was crazy, so I setup shop with NewsGator Go for Blackberry, which I had paid for a long time ago and now its free and it looks great guys, if you want another alternative to Viigo do checkout NewsGator Go, its got a clean interface and the shortcuts are awesome, don’t get me wrong Viigo is great and super super cool but just know you have options, and that’s what great about the blackberry platform, we have tons of options and more and more as the days go by, here is the url for your perusal http://www.newsgator.com/Individuals/NewsGatorGo/Default.aspx and of course a few pics for your enjoyment
PS: For those wondering what kind of icon is that camera, that’s berryannoying, its an app that mutes the shutter on the bb camera and yes I do have Msn on my berry, lol, not the new version of WLM but mine works flawlessly alongside Gtalk

Notify! for BlackBerry’ a great utility and free
June 18th, 2008 by admin
Have you ever wanted to save an email to the memo pad and didn’t have a fancy 3rd party application to do it, well guess what now you can, Atomichelix.com has released Notify! for BlackBerry’. Its a simple application very small less than 10k that from the email list view or the actual email itself add a function the regular menu “save to memopad”, simply click here and voila the memo is added to your memos, isn’t that great.
Congrats to Atomichelix
